New Salem Fatherhood Ministry
Leading the Way in Community Engagement
The New Salem Fatherhood Ministry is making a meaningful impact in the Linden community by collaborating with four local elementary schools to host "Doughnuts with Dad" events. These gatherings encourage fathers to commit to reading with their children for 20 minutes daily, fostering stronger bonds and promoting literacy.
In partnership with Columbus City Schools principals, the North Linden Area Commission, and other community partners, the ministry is actively developing father-focused engagement activities that inspire and empower dads to take an active role in their children’s education and development by reading with their children for 20 minutes daily.
The purpose of the fatherhood ministry is to:
Provide good Biblical information on fatherhood and healthy relationships Share knowledge, experience and wisdom Provide a safe space for men to learn and grow together Help any man practice and grow into his fatherhood Celebrate

Ohio's Third Grade Reading Guarantee is a program to identify kindergarten through grade 3 students who are behind in reading. Schools will provide help and support to ensure students are on track for reading success by the end of third grade. The Department provides policy guidance, instructional tools, and the Third Grade Reading Guarantee resources.
